FULL INVERTER AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
WHAT IS INVERTER TECHNOLOGY?
An inverter is part of the electrical components of an inverter air conditioner or heat pump. It controls and modulates the electrical current running into the fan and compressor’s motor. What this means in functional terms is that the inverter can adjust the speed at which the motor of the compressor and fan runs. This is different from a traditional heat pump because without an inverter, the heat pump only has two speeds—on and off. When the traditional heat pump is switched on, it runs at 100% until it switches off again. Depending on the need, the compressor and fan in a heat pump with inverter-technology can run at a wide range of speeds—in fact, it can even run higher than its standard “100%” speed for short times when necessary for extreme cooling or heating. This change in speed of the compressor and fan essentially changes the cooling/heating capacity of the heat pump.

VERSEAU FULL INVERTER HEAT PUMPS ARE MORE EFFICIENT
In cooling mode, when the water temperature in your swimming pool gets higher than the setting on your thermostat, the standard heat pump switches on, its compressor running at 100% capacity. This brings down the temperature in your pool, and the heat pump switches off. When the temperature goes up in the pool and the heat pump switches on again, repeating the cycle. This can occur anywhere from 4-6 times per hour. The problem is that every time the heat pump switches on, it uses a big jolt of energy to get the compressor motor going instantly from 0 to 100%. It is sort of like how you would be wasting a lot of gas if you turned your car’s engine off and back on at every stop light.
Inverter technology saves energy by:
1. Allowing the compressor to gradually ramp up to only the speed needed.
2. Instead of running full blast for a short time, turning off, and then repeating the cycle, the heat pump with inverter technology runs at a lower capacity for longer periods, decreasing the number of starts and stops.
3. The result is that inverter technology can reduce the amount of energy used by a heat pump by 30-50%. The Verseau Full Inverter Heat pumps are fitted with high efficiency Mitsubishi DC Inverter compressors and DC fan motors enabling the heat pumps to achieve a COP up to 16.1 and EER 6.96
VERSEAU FULL INVERTER HEAT PUMPS MAKES LESS NOISE
Another benefit of inverter technology is that it decreases the noise produced by the heat pumps. First, because the compressor ramps up gradually and only to the minimum necessary speed, it reduces the sudden change in noise levels from the heat pump starting up. Second, the noise during running is reduced whenever the compressor is running at less than 100% capacity. Essentially, you get more consistent, lower noise levels, which are less noticeable and bothersome than the dramatic on-off changes in sound level from a traditional heat pump.
VERSEAU FULL INVERTER HEAT PUMPS ARE MORE COMPACT & LESS HEAVY
The optimum design of the Verseau Full Inverter Heat Pumps makes it possible to reduce the size of the heat pumps as compared to traditional single speed heat pumps. A reduced footprint and weight make the Verseau Full Inverter Heat Pumps easier to accommodate and handle
VERSEAU FULL INVERTER HEAT PUMPS ARE MORE ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY
The Verseau Full Inverter Heat Pumps use R32 as the refrigerant. R32 is a next generation refrigerant which is replacing R410A and R407C because of its low Global Warming Potential. R32 has a GWP of only 675 as compared to 2088 for R410A and 1770 for R407C. R32 has zero Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP).
